Season Ends Just Missing Playoffs PDF Print E-mail

The best season in team history has come to an end. The Sabercats' 2010 season ended with a loss to the Arco Anarchy 19-34 Saturday in Arco, ID.

The Sabercats (4-4) would have taken second place in the AA Central Division with a win over the Anarchy and earned a first-time birth to the RMFL playoffs. However, the loss put them just out of reach in the wild card race and brought the 2010 season to an end.

The Sabercats offense produced quickly earning all of their 19 points in the first half. In the first quarter, Quarterback Tyler Collingwood was first able to find Charlie Finch for a 32 yard touchdown pass. On the next possession, Collingwood hit Ryan Hicks on a short 1 yard pass for the second score.

Collingwood threw his third and final touchdown of the game in the second quarter for two yards to Cody Bates. Arco led at the half, 28-19.

The second half was a defensive struggle with turnovers by both teams. In the end, the Sabercats would be unable to find the endzone again as the Anarchy prevailed 34-19.
